ICO

An Initial Coin Offering (ICO) is the equivalent of an Initial Public Offering (IPO) in the cryptocurrency industry. A company seeking to raise money to create a new service, application, or cryptocurrency can launch an ICO to raise funds. Investors can buy into an ICO to receive a new cryptocurrency token issued by the company. This token may have some utility related to the product or service the company is offering or represent a stake in the company or project.
